Homemaker - Study with GC status?

Hi, I'm a homemaker and got GC approved in 2004. I'm planning to do higher studies at a recognized university.

Will this affect my GC status?
Should I apply for a student visa?
Should I inform INS about my intentions?

I'm trying to find more information about this online but in vain.
If anyone has any valid info, please LMK.

You're a permanent resident. you do not need a visa.

No. Why would you?

You're a permanent resident. You can do anything except vote and run for office. The only thing you need to report to DHS is when you move.
