Home country?

Hi, I changed from F1 into H1 this October and am planning to go for stamping soon. Is it a rule that one has to go to home country for stamping? Should I get my stamping only in India, or can I go to a nearby country?

Appreciate if anyone could clarify the confusion.

Many consulates no longer do third country national stampings for COS. Check the websites. It is best to plan stamping in your home country because a stamping denial may require you to go immediately to your home country without being able to return to the US.
