I read somewhere on this forum that the www.ece.org is a well known company to judge the equileny of educational certificate in USA. I sent my certificates to them and today I got the report which says:

It is the judgment of Educational Credential Evaluators, Inc. that ''My Name'' has the United States equivalent of:

High school diploma from a vocational high school program

My question is, am I according to this report elegible for Diversity Visa? Will the US embassy accept this report because I have some special education diploma which is not really well known in our country.

Answer will be highly appreciated.

My secondary education is vocational high school and my total year of elementary and secondary education is 12 years.
If you have 12 years. you should be ok.

Hi,
I am in a simmilar confusion:confused:. In the education system of my African country, there are two paths: long and short:
• The long path is 13 years of school: 6 years of elementary school +7 years of secondary school. This is a more general curriculum that prepares students for university. A High School degree is awarded at the end of the 13th year if successfully completed.

• The short path is 12 years of school: 6 years of elementary school + 6 years of secondary school. It is oriented toward preparing student for the job market with a technical formation. A technical diploma is awarded at the end of the 12th year if successfully completed. Only in very rare situation that a holder of this diploma qualify to enter university.

Does the short path meet the requirement for the DV2010 entry giving it covers 12 years of school?

Thank you very much for your help.

Be sure to take to the interview all supporting documentation that you provided to ECE for your evaluation along with the sealed letter from ECE and copies of the open evaluation report.
You have a long wait, try not to stress out about it too much. With a bit of luck everything will work out. Stay focused on saving money and being employable when you get there.
