Hi medococo,

I noticed you have recently attracted everybody's attention on this forum - but for all the wrong reasons (as nuisance). Anyway, I have the patience to tell you that: As a standard procedure your second package will have all the information on what to do or where to go. However, to quence your curiosity- medical examination/report from US Embassy-designated clinics are only accepted and in a prescribed forms only. Not medical from any good or very famous clinic will do. Usually, 2nd package will list the address of their designated-clicnics/doctors. If KCC does not include the required medical forms in your second package (I notice they usually omit this - possibly to save on postage), then you will have to ask and collect those from local Embassy.

You will need to bring to your doctor only your original passport, a US passport size photo, and medical examination fees (which depend on doctors).

Usually, amongst other things, doctor will test urine, blood, eye-sight, height, weight, blood pressure, chest X-ray etc. etc. Critical items they tests are whether you are infected with HIV (resulting outright disqualification), sexually transmitted diseasees (syphilies, etc.) or Tuberculosis (the later two and any other disease do not result outright disqualification). They will check your vaccination records (if you have any) and ask about the related disease history and decide which additional vaccinations you might need. For example if you never had vaccination for Chicken pox and you were never infected with chicken pox, they will have to give you 2 shots for it (in 4-6 week's interval. But the 2nd shot can be after your interview). But if you were not vaccinated for a particular disease but you once had it, then you will not require any vaccination for that (because once you are infected and recover, your body automatically develops required antibody for it).

If you want to expedite your medical (which is usually not required) you can email your local US Embassy to send you their list of designated clinics/doctors and then directly talk to one of the clinic even before you get the 2nd package.

Thank you.

You call KCC or US Embassy to know your interview date in advance (before you get the 2nd package in your hand) once your case go current in the Visa Bulletin.

You have chosen your interviewing post (Item 4, in DSP-122) in your return forms to KCC ( based on your current or previous residency there, usually for a long time). Therefore, there is no question as to which embassy you should go to enquire. If your chosen post cannot interview you for certain reasons, they should have informed you much earlier.

Hi medococo,

My 2nd package says that if you have HIV, then you may (= will) not be issued visa. If you have a history of drug abuses (drug addicts), they cannot issue visa. About other diseases, they do not mention that those can result outright rejection of visa. Just to summarise in brief, it apprears that if someone has active TB (tubercolusis), history of TB or a few STD (Sexually Transmitted Disease) including syphilis, then the doctor will classify the case as A or B, and will send your medical report direct to Embassy/consular officer (will not give it to the applicant). I guess they view those diseases seriously and therefore, consular officer will need detail study (but they do not mention that it can lead to outright rejection). If your case is not Case A or B, the medical report is given to the applicant by the doctor and applicant will bring it to embassy during the interview time.

I hope this helps. Do not worry too much. My CP interview is next week in Kuala Lumpur. Please pray for me. You can even write me at: dv.dreamscometrue@yahoo.com

Ferdous,

Thank you for your wishes for me. I value them so much because they give me lots of inspiration and strength at this time of uncertainty and confusion.

Dear All,

Another advice needed. I already got the list of clinics/doxtors in the NL package. Could we do the medical examination prior receiving the 2nd package. Just to save time since we are far away from clinics/doctors in the list.

yes, you can. However, you should probably schedule the medical exam a couple of weeks before the interview. Make sure that you have a record of all your vaccinations, otherwise, you will get the ones appropriate for your age, even though you already had them. If you are missing some, sometimes it's cheaper to get them at your regular doctor's office.

LucyMO, thank you. Your answer really helps us a lot.
