If the 485 applicant is on 40 hrs job with sponsor employer and is on its payroll:
a) Can he /she also take up another 4-5 hrs /day job in additon to regular 8 hrs/day job based on EAD(of course software based job only)
b) If yes, will he/she has to notify INS.(but I think notifying INS in this case is not necessary cause one is not leaving sponsor employer.)
c) Will the approval for GC will come without RFE being issued or not bases on above assumptions.

You can take extra jobs on EAD. They do not have
to be in software. If you take an extra job on EAD you loose
your H1 status with the primary employer and have to switch
to EAD with them as well (file I-9).

I asked this question in the past. From the response, I got on that. You cannot work in a non related field. You have to work in a field close to what is there in the labor certification. I am talking about the primary applicant. Where as dependent can work any where.

As far as working extra hours, I don\'t think you have to tell INS, and you can work as many hours as you wish. But remember once you start using EAD, your H1 multiple is no more valid, you have to use Advance Parole to travel out side the country
