hi!
Every body!!!!!!
I have a question about Join Benefit for Spouse!
Next week, I will go to interview for a Visa in US Consulate in my country under the Category:F1: Unmarried Son and Daughter of US Citizen.
Can I get married immediately after I got the immigration visa?
If I can, Is my spouse eligible for Join Benefit for Spouse ?
I want to get married before entering into US. As I know my brother got green card during 3 months from the first arrival in US, I expect I am the same him.
Please Help me, I want to bring my spouse as soon as possible; she cannot wait for me for along time. I love her deeply!!

Please Help me!

After I have a permanent resident card, how long can i bring my spouse to US from the day that I apply to petition her? (Under F2A)

hi!

hi!

I am very doubt of the Join Benefit for Spouse in immihelp:
http://www.immihelp.com/greencard/familybasedimmigration/following-to-join-benefits.html

in this case, they said that if I don't bring my spouse with me to US. I can apply petition for her after I got green card by informing the USCIS. but i must marry before i have green card.
so my spouse don't wait for the visa number issued, she can come after me.
DO i confuse?

Please help me
I have only 4 days to interview!
Regards,

You are confused. The following to join DOES NOT WORK in your case, since you are getting a visa as an unmarried child of a US citizen. You shouldn't marry before you get a GC, and you definitely can't bring your wife with you now. You will be able to apply for her as soon as you get permanent residency. It will take her about 6 years to join you in the States.

You could get married (not go to the interview, do let the embassy know you are not coming) and wait for the new priority date to become current (category F3) with your wife. That'd be another 3-4 years.

LucyMo, for clarification, with the 3-4 years you meant in addition to the 6 years for a total 9-10 year wait did I interpret that correctly? (PD's in the visa bulletin look like around 1999).

It looks like the OP has to basically make a decision, if the marriage or the life in the US is more important. Sound to me maybe the marriage is more important, based on his description!

3-4 years or whatever the difference in waiting time is between F-1 and F-3 at the moment. That difference has a very unpleasant trend to increase over time.

I appricate for the information

Thank you everybody in this portal helping me.
I will inform to US consulate about my upcoming marry.
I will marry and change to F3, because it takes time shorter than F2A.

Thank you.
God bless you!
