Hi there
I had a chat with local INS office in Maryland and the officer told me that it wud take 4-6 weeks from transfer date to send interview notice.
But I have observerd here that there has been people here whose cases has been transferred to baltimore much more than 4-6 weeks but haver not yet recieved there interview notices.
NOW should I rely on the conversation I had with officer at INS.

Do you think they get mad when you ask them for statuses ? Mine was transfered on April 25th and have not received anything yet..
I think all they do is look at the computer and pull up your case to see if the interview has been scheduled. Is it a good idea to check, please let me know...

Officer didnt get mad at all, On the contrary he was polite and he told me that if the interview notice is not recieved by sos and so time then call back and they will see into it.
No problem you see!!!

My TD is 4/25, I went to the Baltimore office last week. The officer looked at the screen, told me that my case not been scheduled for interview yet and that it would take anywhere between 60 and 90 days. That was it.

hi mackika
You mean 60 t0 90 days from transfer date or they from the day you went there to enquire about your case?

Hi Philanthropist, what number you have dialed to inquire? Did you go there or called them? I am sorry, if you have mentioned about it in your earlier message. Because mine also transfered on Apr 27th and not yet heard any thing from them. I went in person also to inquire, but nothing happened. If you have number to contact them, please do post it.
Thanks

Hi Folks,
Please Help me here. My case was transferred to Baltimore on May 18th. I will most likely get laid off in 2 months time. Our company has a policy of 1 to 1.5 months severance pay. Worst case It might be earlier.
 My question is

 1. Should I look for another company - have crossed 6 months.
 2. What will be the problem with going to a new company? I have heard people being approved but all the cases seem to be with AOS. Has Anybody transferred to Baltimore and changed jobs using the 6 month rule been approved?
 3. My company people are prepared to support me fully in any way they can. Would I be better off to wait it out since they will give me a letter saying they will hire me after the GC?
 4. What are the problems if one goes to an interview and does not have a paycheck but has the letter fromn the employer willing to hire once the GC is approved?

Thanks A Lot

My best guess is that from the date Baltimore receives the case, which is 2-3 weeks after the TD. Of course, some people get it sooner (as we have seen it) and some later than that.
