Do they usually ask asylees for an interview?
I mean, is it standard procedure for an asylee to go through the interview or they usually just skip it?

As far as I know they don't ask for interview for asylees. Than again in this immigration thing there ain't no telling. Anything is possible. Like I see people get approval whit the ND 2002 where else I'm 2000 but don't even know how how does really a GC look like. Sorry I shouldn't say I don't know but yes looking from others I have an idea but about mine all I can say just waiting & waiting & waiting.

thanks rahman...I appreciate your input

I haven't even applied yet for adjustment of status because I won the case in court less than a year ago...I am finding out there is a terrible backloag to get that blessed GC...

anyways...the rest of you guys knows anything if they waive the interview or they request for one often?

good luck to all of US

where did you get your approval mean which State ? Don't wait too long to file for your 485. As soon your 1 year things come up file for your adjustment.
Earlier the better. Good luck my friend.

They do not interview you unless you are really "lucky" (two or three percent of the applicants). I was one of them. :)

Kalvar,

Trust me, you will be applying at the best possible time (when the Asylee GC quotas have been removed and the backlog is actually being reduced).

Most of us applied when the backlog was moving, but to the opposite direction and had not hoped for a green card before 2008/2009.

If there were no quotas when I applied (2001), I would have gotten my GC long time ago.

I must agree with others on this thread, you will be applying at the most ideal time during the history of asylum based I-485s. The backlog and the annual maximum are removed and by the time you apply for your I-485, you will experience a much quicker response. So do not be discouraged by what you read because they are gradually becoming "a thing of the past."

Best of luck,

What they asked you in that interview? Just curious !!!!

Rahman buddy

I won the case in Florida.
I had applied since 2001 but my Immigration hearing kept being delayed and rescheduled for all the wrong reasons.
My first attorney left the practice where I met her and left me too.The hearing got postponed for one year.
My second attorney did the same thing and same results.
My third attorney...didn't even want to go to court because he said we had a lost case.
About then, I decided to do something and contacted someone who actually had experience and understood what my circumstances were.Someone who was not willing to give up.The hearing went smoothly and the Immigration Judge approved....the USCIS attorney had nothing to say but GOOD LUCK.

Nobody understands the hardships we went home and are experiencing here due to this broken toy that is the US immigration system but fellow asylees.

This message board is by far the most informative and you guys are true gentleman. Thanks
