My employer is going to deduct H-1B related expenses ( lawyer, filing fee etc) from my salary :-( what should I do?

I would like to ask you if anybody could tell me where I can find the law regarding the requirement that all costs for H-1B must be covered by my employer.

Who is going to pay H-1B related expenses? Employer or I ?

Thanks in advance

Employer has to pay for H1B fees and lawyer fees, Employee can not pay the H1b or H1 extension/transfer fees, it is illegal if employer is asking the fees from Employee, if some one complaints to DOL or BCIS Employer will be violating the H1b law and can be fined and will be unable to file any H1b in future for 3 or 5 years
Sorry I don’t have time to give you a link to H1b law you can search for it also read Form I-129 instructions

Hmm! I don't think the employer has to pay the lawyer fees. The filing fees (by the law) has to be paid by the employer.

Thx.

I was told by an immigration attorney that the company is only obligated to pay $1000. Any premium processing cost, and the balance of $130 for regular processing can be passed on to the employee. Is there any way to find out what the law actually says?

parekh,

That should indeed be the fact.

The co. legally does not have to reimburse the expenses for legal fees and fees for H1.
