I want to renew my visa in Canada, I always was in status but my visa expired 4 years ago. I need to travel abroad to complete my thesis research and I want some advice of experiences renewing the F1 visa.
to make my story short,
I am a current M.Arch at the University of Massachusetts. I got my visa issued in 2004 and it was granted for 6 months. However the consular officer told me that I can stay until i finish my degree with my I-20 status. I started my Master in 2007 and I am about to graduate. but I didn't renews my visa since 2004,
I have to say that I took some graduate courses prior this program at the Harvard Extension school, (2005-2007) but I keep my status with an English institute until 2007

Do you guys think that I might have any inconvenient at the interview?

I really appreciate any comment or suggestion....

What is your current status and with what University? What is your most recent I-20? Were proper transfers done when you switched schools?

Thanks for your response......
My current status is F1, It always was and I have the transcripts from the university of Massachusetts, but also from Harvard Extension with good grades. I renew my I-20 3 days ago because they advised me to get a recent signed one. Prior the acceptance at the university, I studied in 3 different English institutes from 2004 - 2007 (to prepare for the Toefl and GRE). They give me the I-20 and I never was out of status.
Thanks
