Hi, friends. I need your help/input. Can one have two I-485 applications pending at the same time?
I filed one last Oct. (RD: 10/24/2001 ND: 12/4/2001) as a spouse and now I am thinking of filing on my behalf. Is that allowed? Will my new filing cancel my old one automatically? How soon will my current application (as specified above) be considered? And how long do I have to wait for INS's decision.

I am new here and I really have to make a decision soon. Please help. thank you very much.

technically, you may file multiple petitions, however, doing so will confuse INS for sure. I think you should consult with your lawyer
about this. H/She should know better than most of us here...
 
why?

If you have filed last Oct why bother filing again. OCT cases should be finished soon
 
You are allowed to file only one AOS

It does not matter if you are the primary applicant or the dependant - you can have only one AOS with INS.
Anyway why do you want to file another application when your current pending application is so close to being processed.
