My husband is an H-1b visa holder and I am an H-4 visa holder. He got his H-1b extended this year and I also received my H-4 extension. I want to go to Mumbai (my husband cannot come due to work) and come back. Whilst I will carry all other documents w/me, is it essential that my husband's passport should be first stamped before I can give my passport for stamping of visa.

Thanks.

--- NO, you can get H4 stamped even if your spouse has not H1 Visa stamp inhis passport as he has valid H1B status and they will ask his H1 approval/extension notice
Thanks.
