Help! Wrong filing fee for EAD renewal

I would appreciate if somebody tell me some helpful hints.
I applied for my EAD (CSC)renewal last week (4th March). But it turned out I sent a check for wrong amount $88! I was thoroughly confused whether it was $88 or $120, but could not get an answer even after posting a message here and elsewhere. So I took a wild guess and sent it $88 (I really blame the BCIS site for this:-). Now what is going to happen to this application? Will it returned in its entirity? Can I re-apply? But I sent my original I797-D along with the first appln. Anybody suggest something to help me out? thank you!

Do you have a print out of the BCIS to prove that the day you applied the fee was $88? Just kidding...
whenever the fees change, the fee on the date of filing is taken as the fee applicable to the application.
Did you say you sent the original EAD along with the renewal petition?!?

I didn't send my original EAD. But the stub (top part of I-797D I think) you get the original EAD with.
So my question was do they accept the application (issue a ND/RD) and then send out an RFE for correct payment or they send back application altogether?
I haven't received the ND/RD yet. It has been a week or so.

Here is an update:
I received the whole application back from InS/BCIS. The "Notice of Action" says that "your application for Employment authorization, Form I-765 is being rejected for incorrect fee"

on my application form (I-765) there is a bar-code sticker attached to top-right hand corner with Red "R" written on it.
And in the box for "Initial Receipt" the date has been scratched.

Now my question is can I (re)use the same application form or do I have to submit a new one? Do i need to add the copy of "notice of Action" and a cover letter??

Thanks!
