Help with some questions please

hi everybody...
We went for the interview on Feb 7 but the agent only wrote her name and A number in my passport... never said anything about GC... what does it mean??? Are they going to call us again for another interview??? how long should we wait for it???
She asked some questions, kept two pictures, saw my medical clearance, got proof of address and I thought that everything was OK...
Two weeks later we got my EAD... and with that I finally could get a SSN which said "valid only with EAD"... but I am supposed to be Adjustment of Status pending??? or what am I???
With EAD and SSN I went to the bank with my husband to open a joined account, but clerk said that until I get the GC I can not open any account... is that true??? We already filed tax declaration together, but the clerk said that even illegals can do that...
I mean, if I start working and I get paid... what I am supposed to do with the money and how can I start to make a credit history if they dont allow me to have a bank account???

I'll bet it's an I-551 stamp. Processed for permanent residence? That's a temporary GC stamp. Congratulations.

The clerk is an idiot. See the manager - heck, even a B visitor can open an account. If the manager says no, find a new bank.

thanks for your answer... but I got no stamp in my passport, she just wrote her name and said that is only a proof of the interview... so I dont know if we are gonna be called again for another interview and when... and how long will it take for me to get the conditional GC...
