Help with negligence driving on I-485 application

I am planning to file the I-485 package for adjustment of status through marriage.

I made 2 mistakes here in the US previously. I got a speeding ticket in august 2002 and I also got a negligence driving 1st degree on nov 2003.

There is a field on page 3 of I-485 application asking "If you ever been arrested, cited, charged, indicted, fined or imprisoned for breaking or violating any law of ordinance, excluding traffic violations"

I never went to jail or anything, but I was indicted for negligence driving 1st degree and paid fine. If I am correct, neg driving is considered a misdemeanor crime?

Should I check yes on the field?
Should I look for a lawyer advise in order to better handle my I-485?

Any help / comments appreciated.
 
Don't sweat it. My husband had one DUI in 2003 and our attorney said to answer no to the question. Technically, the first DUI is consider a traffic violation...repeated DUIs are a different story though...

Well yes this is my first case and I was charged with DUI but the prosecutor agreed to lower the charge to negligence driving 1st degree.

So I guess I'll have to talk to a lawyer to get a confirmation that 1st time negligence driving is considered a traffic violation, then....

any other takes?
