Help with GC

Can somebody please help. Our POE was on 3 April 2002 at Newark.
We have not received the plastic card yet. How long does it take
to get the GC Plastic card? Does it take 6-9 months to get it? Does anybody know how one can chase
it up? Is there a phone # to call and chase it up? Is it advisable
to chase it up with INS?

What criteria do they use to start sending the card? Do they check
for something else even after the passport has been stamped for
I-551?.

You may want to join the April CP plastic card tracking discussion. In general, it should take approx 2-3 weeks to get the card. However the official word is it can take 2 or 3 months. You can contact INS to find this out. Anyhow, one of my colleagues had a case where he never got his card. He had to go to the local INS office to get I-551 stamp renewed for about 4 years after which he became a citizen .

DOnt worry too much. As long as u have a valid I-551, it\'s as good as having a gc. Contact INS through ur lawyers.

I have never heard someone never been sent a plastic card after GC. You said the passport was stamped for another 4 years. How come?
What else does INS look for before they send the Plastic card?
