Ari4u,

I read the USCIS filing instructions, but also saw the NBC filing instructions at http://uscis.gov/graphics/fieldoffices/nbc/faq.htm#FilingTips, so I'm a little confused as to which to use. Don't all AOS applications go to NBC in Chicago? Their filing instructions differ quite a bit and that's why I was wondering what others have sucessfully used.

Thanks for your help.

All family based application bundles go to Chicago lockbox.

I want to file for my mother (who is in U.S currently on a visitor visa) and for my Dad who is in India.

Should I send a separate I-130 for each one of them? I'm going to file all of these for my mom.

I-130 - Fees - $190
I-485 - Fees - $385 (some of you have mentioned $395 in your post??)
I-131 - Fees - $170
G-325A - No Fees
I-864 - No Fees
----------------------------
Total : $755
----------------------------

For My Dad:

I-130 - Fees - $190

So, Can I send 2 checks one for my Mom for the total amount of $755
and one for my Dad for $190

Can I send all these forms for my Mom and I -130 for my Dad in the same envelope? What did you guys do in a similar situation?

'tobecitizen' -

I do remember you had some questions recently about filing forms for your parents, but unfortunately all your threads/posts seem to be missing. My situation is very similar to yours. Filing for one parent here and the other in India. Can you please let me know how you filed for them? I would really appreciate any info. Thanks.

I-485

I-485 Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status $325* 14 years and older. $225* under 14 years of age. See Details, Service Center 10/26/05. 4/22/05 version also accepted. + 70 $

Good luck, I filed all my forms on 12/20/05!!!

How do I get a SSN once I get my EAD?
Does anyone have infos about that? Thanks you!

Yes. One should always file separate petitions for parents.

Some fees have changed recently. Current fee for I485 is $325 or $225 for under 14 years of age + $70 for people between the age of 14 and 79.
So, Can I send 2 checks one for my Mom for the total amount of $755 and one for my Dad for $190
No. You should have 3 checks for your mom and one check for your dad.
Can I send all these forms for my Mom and I -130 for my Dad in the same envelope? What did you guys do in a similar situation?
Yes, you can send them in the same envelope, just separate them with a rubber band.
You might want to read the link ari4 provided above.
