I cant find help anywhere...
here is my case
maybe someone will be able to help
I have an F1 visa valid until August 15th 2009.
and an OPT valid until January 2010.
I am working.
My employer will do a petition for the H1B1 visa this week
as I understand we cannot have our F1 extended while in the country and I cant go out.
but I have some questions...
on the immigration website it says that I can have an F1 visa expire and not be a problem since I have an OPT valid.
is that really ok?
my employer will file the petition, then my visa will expire...
is that a problem? since my OPT wil be valid..
I mean... the date of the filed petition counts as starting paperwork so I am ok...
I really am afraid about haveing this visa expire while doing this process
