Hi Everyone,

I have been reading through the threads for many hours & just need a few questions cleared up.

I am a US citizen, currently living abroad in Bermuda (temporarily) with my husband who is Canadian. We want to move to the US Florida area.

I know I have to file a I 130 & will need to first move to Florida, find a job & work min of 3 months before I can apply for the 130 for him Correct?

In the meantime while the 130 is pending I can apply for a K3 visa correct?

I have heard that a K3 visa can take 7 or 8 months, & sometimes the 130 comes sooner.

Questions: Can he come sooner to the US & then I file a 485 or 824 or....unsure of possibilities
Can he come to visit me in the US while the K3 & 130 is pending?

Any input would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you

Does anyone really care about these basics

Sorry for re-posting ..
Wondering why everybody else has huge responses to everyone else but not mine??????????????

Again my questions should be simple &happy to answer

PLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEa respond lol :)

I'm not aware of a requirement that you need to find a job and work to apply for I-130.

Read this guide about how to file an immigrant petition if both petitioner and immigrant live outside the US.

If you file an immigrant petition for your husband it's unlikely that he will be allowed to visit the US before he is approved. Visits require nonimmigrant intent.

The option where he comes sooner and then completes a portion here (I-485) is with a K3 visa.

Here is the immigrant visa section for the US Consulate in Bermuda. In particular, it says they can only accept immediate relative applications for spouses of US citizens who are domiciled in Bermuda, not sure if this applies to you.
