hi all, new here, and will try and keep this convoluted story short. i am an american, married to a brit (11years). when we were in the states in 2006 i filed a I-130. we had to leave the states and return to spain where we were living previously, (my husband overstayed his visa waiver). as i failed to file a change of address, i did not receive the approval notice of the I-130. I recently contacted the US immigration office, the I-130 was approved but they had no data as it was so long ago, and they said to file an I-824. i have called the american office several times about what to do as they will only send correspondence to addresses in the states, therefore i must go through my mother. i have tried to call the madrid office (only open tues and thurs 3-5pm), only to get a no one available...call back...about 100 times. everyone i speak to in the states gives me different answers.
SO...1. do i need to start over? will my husbands visa overstay be a big negative? 3.how do you get to talk to someone that know what the***is going on?? any info will be welcome. thanks, as i am about to blow a gasket. nancy
