Help Unique question about H1B 6 years

Hi ,

I have a unique question about H1B timing...

My friend has 1.5 year remaining in his H1, and his
comapny has been shut down. he has no otion now but to go back to India.

Question is , if he stays for about 1 year in India and applys for a new H1 how much time he can stay after coming back?

6 years or 1.5 years.

Answer to this question is urgent because he has to decide what to do after getting answer to this question.

If he stays in India for 1 year, he can get another 6 years on his new H1.

Since he has 1.5 years time, why dont he surf BCIS site and look for all the law regulations...
