My husband's I-485 got approved on May16th, but we still have not received approval notice. His Advance Parole is still pending with TSC. He needs to travel out of the country end of this month.
Can he make an appointment for passport stamping without the approval notice in hand?
Please advise.
BTW, I am the primary appliicant. I haven't heard anything from them since my fingerprinting (Feb '05)

Thanks for all the help

patient2002,

Your husband should not leave the country till his PP is stamped. Visas, APs and EADs become invalid as soon as the 485 is approved. Now for the possible solution.

I have known some PP stamping offices to accept email printouts of the approval in place of the offical notice. I would suggest that your husband schedule his infopass appointment a week before his departure date. This way there is time for the original notice to arrive. In case the notice does not arrive, then he can go to the office with the email printout, explain his situation and maybe the officer will be reasoable and stamp his PP. If the officer refuses to stamp his passport then I am afraid your husband will have to cancel his trip.

Hope things work out for you guys.

regards,

saras
