HELP: strange online message after FP

My wife and I did finger print on March 19, but the online message is shown different from most other FP' message:

The message for both my wife and me is the same:

"On March 27, 2003, the fingerprints for your I485 Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status were collected and are pending review."

I asked my atterney and she responded the following:

"There is no real way to contact TSC about this. For some reason either
your prints haven`t cleared or your name is similar to a terrorist. If
I were you I would print out the message and take it to the local
fingerprint support office and ask them.
".

It's already been over 3 month after the FP. Does anyone know what could be the reason or anyone has similar experience?

Thanks

Actually your fingerprints are to be reviewed by FBI, the results of which are then conveyed to BCIS. Right now your online message says that the FBI hasn't finished reviewing your fingerprints. That may not be true. So, call FBI with your alien number and they will let you know, if your fingerprints were validated and results dispatched to BCIS. I don't have the FBI number and somebody can post it over here, for you.

After that, call BCIS customer-service and ask them why the results are not updated (if indeed FBI had finished analyzing your fingerprints). So, call the FBI first. Have your SRC number and Alien Number handy.

hi poongunranar,

thanks for the reply. i called FBI and was told FBI sent the FP results back to INS on march.

what kind of results the FBI will send back to INS? cleared ? rejected? , etc..

FBI will give you the results

You could have asked FBI about the results and they would have told you about the same.

david

there are lot of instances where bcis or ins is not fast enough to update the message.
i would also suggest you call bcis and ask them if there is anything wrong why the message is not updated

Hello David_tang,

We also got the same message after FP. I was under the impression that is not a problem. I have seen in this form that several people got the same message.

I too have the same message

I did my FP on may 27th. Since June 11th, the message is exactly the same. I checked with the forum and came to the impression that this is a delay on the part of the INS to update the message. What to do now?

David_tang,
I too got the same message. When I enquired FBI, I was replied that my finger prints were fine and they sent the results very next day to INS. So, I don't think the message reflects an abnormality in the case or with the applicant. My case is that I moved to CA after my I-485 application at TSC. I assume that I am getting this kind of FP message because my file is waiting to be moved to the Local INS/CSC. My wife did her FP with me. But her message never got changed from old '990-999' days stuff yet. FBI says her FP is fine too. So, I will give the benefit of doubt to the usual TSC indifference than anything else!

FP Under Review - Last Name too long

I am also in the same boat as you all are.

My status says "FP under review" while my wife's status says "Processing Resumed".

I finger printed twice becuase the notices were sent twice once to my old address and once to my new address scheduled for different dates. I did the second one hoping that "FP under Review" msg would go away. But just as before, my wife's status changed to "Processing Resumed with a new date". My status is not changed at all ?!

I have a really long "last name" (16 Characters). I wonder if it is waiting for a "Name Check"!?? Do you guys have long "Last Names"??

Mine is exactly the same

My FP status says 'Pending review' whereas my wife's status is 'Processing resumed'. God knows what this means.
