Help required urgent

Hi ,
I had a valid F1 visa and I had gone to USA on that in spring 2005 now due to family issues i came back to india and filled out leave or absence form at my university.Now I don't want to go back to USA so what shud i do with my visa status? Shud i go to consulate and get it cancelled? Will it automatically get out of status? What shud b my next step now?

don't have to do anything. You can email your INternational center and ask to terminate your SEVIS status. If you don't, it will terminate automatically when you don't show up for school next semester.
