help required on B1 to H4

Hi,
I currently have B-1 visa valid till 2015. I travel to US client-site once every year. My husband is going for H1 visa from his company. this way , I have to apply for H-4 visa. Will the consulate discard my B-1 visa when I get H-4 visa? Please help

I doubt that the Consulate cancels your B-1 visa before issuing an H-4 visa, but ultimately it depends on the particular Consulate where you will apply for an H-4 visa.

I reckon it is more likely that the consulate will cancel the B-2 visa upon issuance of the H-4 visa.

As I said in my previous post, it can go either way. A consul has total freedom to decide whether to cancel older visas or not.
