Help! Question about EAD.

Hi,

My wife got EAD four years ago when she graduated from graduate school and applied for OPT with F1 visa. She never used her EAD and transfered to H4 then. In March 2004, she filled I485 as my dependent and her status is AOS. Now she wanted to apply for EAD. Is her application new application for pending I485 or renewal? Can anybody clarify for me? Thank you so much.
 
Our attorney has put my wifes case under renewal but her case may be different.
She has opt EAD valid until sept 27, 2005

and she applied for I485 EAD in Dec 2004.

Hi goodstart,

which EAd your wife is using? OPT from F1 or EAD from pending I485?
somebody told me that once we apply for I 485, the F1 OPT card will be no longer valid. I appreciate your input.

It should be a new application as the basis for the EAD has changed.

But, you should still enter the details about the previous EAD in the form.
Also make sure you enter the correct 485 A-number -- the A# in the OPT card is not valid now.

OPT wont be valid after you receive 485 EAD. She is working on her I485 EAD.
