Guys I am the primary applicant and my green card was approved about 4months ago. My wifes case was transferred to local office in oklahoma city. I recently got a letter froml lical office stating that FBI has not been able to read her finger prints twice and She has been told to appear for an interview and they want police clearence from past 5 years. I have stayed in tulsa at 3 diffrent addresses for past 5 years any idea whom I contact for this and how do I do it. Any help or ideas will be appreciated. Thanks

My case was transferred to Oklahoma City ten days ago. I am just trying to figure out the time frame I have to wait before I get the interview scheduled.

As you lived in Tulsa only for the past five years it makes your job easy. I used to read on this forum about this long time ago. As far as I can remember all you have to do is go to the nearest police station close to you and they should be able to get you the certificate without any problems.

Catch-22 Situation - Also try this as a back-up.
What you should do is to call your local State Bureau of Investigation. They will be able to guide you in this regard.
As a back-up (faute de mieux), go to your local county-jail (correction-center) and ask them to get a personal record/background-check against your wife. Usually, the fees is $15-20. This will comprise of almost all the core checks against your wife in the SCIC (State Crime Information Center) and NCIC (National Crime Information Center). This is an absolute faute de mieux that you can provide to the officer during interview. Explain your perfect Catch-22 situation, if questioned. Call Oklahoma Bureau of Investigation and work through your Sheriff's Department (current domicile county would suffice, even if you had stayed in other parts of OK) for the background check.
Usually, Police Clearance for Immigration Purposes will have to be done by providing finger-prints to FBI, which then will send you the clearance report. Contact FBI's site in this regard. However, you are told that FBI couldn't clear your wife's finger-prints. So, this is a perfect Catch-22 situation.shiv123 said:

i am the primary applicant and my case was approved in april. My wife case was transferred in march 2004 so i guess u can talk about 4-5 months before u get any interview date. i got clearence from OSBI, tulsa county also so hopefully that should be enough. Any how lets see i will know on monday when she goes for interview.

How to get Police Clearance
U can follow the same writing them and send the copy of letter u received to use as purpose for getting Police certificate. (ignore the Canada words u can use same procedure)
Note ( ask to send the copy/results also to the office where ur interview is + send the copy to the service center u filled (in case) ) I belive they don't give u results all they do is they send copy to appropriate institution/org who required FP results. u can use the office Address+Phone+fax + (check the name on letter u received.) I believe rest of u can handle it

The FBI will tell you the amount of the fee. In Canada, some police offices and some security firms provide a fingerprinting service.
For applicants in the United States of America:
You must go to your local Police Station to complete an
“Applicant Card” and have your fingerprints taken.
“Applicant Cards” may be obtained through your State Police or Federal Bureau of Investigation or calling, (304) 625 5590 and selecting Option #3.
Once your fingerprints have been taken you then send this card to the FBI and request a copy of your record listing together with the following:
1. The letter from CSIC requesting your Police Certificate
2. Your full name, your date of birth and place of birth
3. Fee US$18 (must be a certified cheque or money order payable to the US Treasury)

Thanks guys for the reply. the whole process was pretty simple. I beleive OK city office is a great place to get an interview.. All they asked my wife was the police clearence letter and she showed the one from tulsa and OSBI. They made her swear that she had not had any arrests etc etc and stamped her passport. Over all it was a pretty painless expereince and she was done in 10 mins. BTW they video taped the whole proceeding do they do it at other centers also.
