Hello all,
I have been reading this forum for years. I am in a situation that I think no other people could help me better than you guys.

My mother was diagonsed cancer early this year and she passed away two months ago. My father had a stroke a few years ago and he is not very clear sometime. Without my mother, it is so hard for him. I do not know how long he will be in this world. Now you know what a mean person I am. I look down on myself too. I am always a person of bad luck with immigration, so I do not know when my case will be processed. I have an expired passport and I really really want to see my parents. What should I do? I do not if I should and could extend my passport right now.

What should I do?

Thanks for your help!

Sorry to hear about your family. Your unfortunate circumstances will qualify you for Advance Parole with USCIS. You need to get and fill out necessary forms, attach all possible documents you have (death certificates, medical records) and write an affidavit about your family situation to USCIS. You may need to renew your passport in order to enter your COP. It is not uncommon for USCIS to issue Advance Parole benefit, basically they will give you a document that will allow to return to US even if your asylum application is pending.

Thank you. Do I need to find a doctor to translate the documents or anyone who is bilingual? Thanks for your help,
