HELP Please !!!

NOTE: I have already posted this under EAD & AP thread but no one replied, so thought some of you gurus can help me.

SITUATION:
I have applied AP for both (me & spouse) on April 6th 2005 but I have not received any updates on our cases. As per VSC processing dates, they are currently processing I-131 applications with date of May 14, 2005. I have also opened an inquiry with national service center during which rep said that you should here in about 30 days.

My company is now planning to send me to India for offshore delivery for about a month. I currently possess valid H1B (which I need to get stamped once I go to India) but as most of you know it is taking at least 3 months to get an appointment for stamping. So I would like to use AP for re-entry.

QUESTION:

Do you know what else I can do to get my AP approved quickly, like trying to reach VSC instead of national service center or walk in local office to get temporary one?

Any guidance will be appreciated.

Explain it your employer that you cannot travel at the moment. After all he is the one who has sponsored you.

I think you should take appointment from infopass to your local office and ask for interim AP. i think or i read somewhere that afte 90 days, you are eligible to get that.

That's not true. You can ask for Interim EAD at your local ASC if I-765 is pending for more than 90 days but it doesn't apply to I-131. You may ask for Emergency Travel Document but it doesn't look like hmmmmm is eligible for one.

There is no such thing as Interim AP. But one can get an emergency AP from the local office. I am not sure if they will consider your situation as an emergency. But if it is important it's worth giving it a shot.

Try your best to take as many documents you can to prove emergency. Company letter head stating that if you do not go to India then they will incur very heavy irecoverable loss.

Anything that will prove the emergency will be helful. But emergency AP cannot be guaranteed until you really get it.

try with baltimore cis centre, if it's feasible for you. I personaly know people who got it even to attend their sons marriage.
best wishes
