help please! I-140 approved on jan 22\' 02,but ,unable to decide whether it went to CP or AOS!

I just heard from AVM that My I140 has been approved. My details are

VSC
I140 EB2 (BS+ 6 )
RD 04/20/01
ND 05/15/01
RFE dt 10/20/01 ( company financials )
reply sent 12/01/01
RFE ND 12/12/01
I140 AD 01/22/02

Intially I140 was applied with the intent of AOS (I485), then my attorney sent a letter to VSC on 07/10/01 requesting for CP. the message i heard today is " This case been approved on Jan\' 22 2002 and approvel notice was mailed. if 14 days is passed ... " Does this mean that my case is approved for AOS. what message do i get if my case is approved for CP ??? please help.. Does AVM is supposeed to say "This case has been approved on Jan\'22 2002 and information is sent to National Visa Center .... etc etc.. "

IF my case is approved for AOS. what are my options ? do i have to file for I824 (in this case i opt for I485 ) or send another letter thru my attorney to request for CP . what are the chances ?? pllleeeeeseee help ...

You have to wait for your approval notice to learn if your I-140 was approved for AOS or CP. There is no way to find out from the AVM message right now. The approval notice usually takes 1-2 weeks but it can take longer. I know it is hard to wait but it should be coming your way any day now.

If your case was approved for AOS, you can push your lawyer to call the service center that they made a mistake. Some people were successful to get their AOS approval reversed to CP. However, it depends a lot on your luck. As you probably know by now, the INS is unpredictable. If this fails, you need to file I-824.
