My entire 6 year H1B will expire on 12/8/02. My 485 interview is on 10/17/02 in Baltimore. However, my spouse's 485 remains in VSC. Her H4 will expire on 12/8/02 also. She has EAD. My question is
(1) what status she should be after I get the approval on 10/17
(2) Does she has to extend her H4?

I think, she will be in "Adjustment Pending status"..

I hope she has an EAD and AP....this will allow her to tavel and work incase her H4 expires...
 
Not sure ....but i guess she will be fine...

She should be fine and in no need to extend the H4. Since H4 is based on your H1.........there is no way she can extend her H4.
She might just need to renew her EAD if her case doesn't get approved b4 her EAD expires.
 
She will be totally fine. No need and no way to extend her H-4. Once a person's I-485 is pending, he/she will be legal to stay here as "Adjustment Pending status".
