Help on RFE, please

My wife's RFE is on legal status between a specific time, during which I was on OPT.
Anyone has idea on what needs to be sent in?
The assistant to my lawyer asked for the EAD card for the OPT. Is this enough?

If your wife was your dependent at that time, she should be F2. She should have I-20 for her F2 status during that time.
 
Things are that the I-20 shows it's from 5/97 - 5/00. My OPT was from 1/00 to 12/00. So I guess the INS officer thought there was something wrong.
 
There was no time frame on your wife's I-20. It should be DS (I think that DS means dependents, but I am not sure). You can copy your OPT and your wife's I-20 to prove your wife's legal status. You can also consult the international student office of your school.
 
Actually, the assistant of my lawyer told me that the I20 has the date on there. On my wife's I-94, it says D/S, which is Duration of Status. I bet an OPT EAD card of 1/00 - 12/00 should get it straightened out.

What I don't understand is that they approved me, but not my wife, and she's the dependent.
 
I-94 is an entry record. It doesn't show the duration you will stay in US. Anyway, as long as you were in legal status durin that time, your wife should have no problems.
