Help: on FBI background checking

I need help on FBI background check. I filed my I-485 at March, 2002, did my second FP on july. After this I did one inquire and was told that immigration office is waiting my FBI background checking result. It's been almost four months, as I knew commonly it only took few days. Does anybody know to contact FBI to check the status of this or is there any number I can call?

FBI background checking

Have your A# ready. Here it is:

1. Call any one number:
304 625 5590
304 625 2406

2. Select Option 3 or Option 2 i.e. Private Individual
3. Tell her/him that you need to check whether your FP report is sent to INS or not ?

Thank you for your help. I already checked my finger print result and it has been sent back to INS, but there has another check called background check or name check. Do you know what number to call to check the status?
