Help on Advacne Parole

Hello:
My wife (who is a US citizen) is sponsoring her mother for green card. We have applied for her I487 status adjustment along with Advance Parole at Tampa sub office. We received her AP valid for one year. She has legal status when we applied for GC. My question is how long can she stay out of country. I heard any where between 2 months to 6 months. Are there any restriction on how long one can stay outside?

There is no restriction as such but it's advised against leaving the US (unless it is an emergency) while the I485 (AOS) petition is pending.
