Help !! No filing receipt no.

Hi,

I am in a strange situation. My labor was filed under PERM on 30 Jan 2006 in NY. Till date there is no receipt number. is that possible ? Lawyer said they have filed an application to see what happened ? is there somebody else with the same scenario ? What are the options now ?

Was it filed online or by mail? If filed online, the moment you enter it, you get a case number

What is a case no. ? is it the same as receipt no. ? I will have to ask lawyer on how it was filed...
