I just received notification from uscis that i failed to appear for citizenship interview, according to them my interview was scheduled for july 10, and i never received notification letter for that interview. Today when i saw this envelope i was happy thinking that is a notice for interview and shocked after i opened that envelope. This notice said that i have 30 days to explain why i did not appear for interview. What should i do now, to go to uscis office or call customer service... My case is in Miami, if anybody has advice i will appreciate since i am already one year in this process...

07/25/07 application received
10/10/07 received case number
12/15/07 fingerprints done

I am not sure what's the best course of action, perhaps Infopass would be better. Does the letter give you any instructions on how to proceed? I mean, where to send a letter or something. Perhaps you can solve this by mail. Anyway, an Infopass is probably your best bet.

Check the date properly, may be printing mistake, mine priority date is July 2nd and I got IL on Aug 1st week.

Dont worry problem will be solved.

It is not a crime not to appear for an interview and you seem to have a valid reason. Just pick up the phone and try to reschedule the interview.

try infopass appointment. You will be okay. they will reschedule your appointment because you haven't received your appointment. Did you move before you notified of your address changes?

It is not the end of the world. You can explain to the officer either via phone or via infopass appointment (best)

Cadet,
This has happened to a few people but I can't give you the specifics. You must act fast and don't worry too much. Read up on the similar cases you will find so you know what others did. The search function is you friend!
