Help needed to interpret form DS230 part I

Hi to everyone in the house,

Please help me understand how to answer questions 31 a and b of form ds230 part I.

31 a: person( s) named in 14 and 29 who will accompany to the united states now.

31 b: person( s) in 14 and 29 who will follow you to the united states at a later date.

In case you have just your husband to go with you and no one else to include in the lottery, how do you answer the above questions?

I am confused.

Please reply.

31a: put your husband's name

31b: put 'N/A' since you don't have any other derivative who is likely to join you guys in the US later on.

Unknowingly if somethings wrong is filled up.then we can correct it on interview time.Just my opinion!!!

And what is exactly the difference of the two questions (31a & 31b) ?
Suppose I am married and have two children and they will all accompany me.
On which question I put the name of my wife and on which question I put the names of our children.

Thanks for your replies guys.

If you intend for your wife and children to receive their visas when you receive yours, you list them (wife and children) under 31a and put "NONE" under 31b.

31b is for beneficiaries who will not be processing their visas with you at the same time.

I was going to ask the same question mom. Thanks for the answer mom. I have another question regarding the US address in DS230 form. If we put our current address in the form but move after sending the forms to KCC:
1. Do we need to send the updated DS230 with new address?
2. Lets say, KCC already sent the forms to US Embassy, can we change the address in the interview day?
Please advise.

DSP230 - Part II question
Hi,
In the part II of DS230, it is asking for Name and address of petitioner (item #39). What does that mean for in terms of DV case? What should I put there? Please advise.

1. No, you don't need to send an updated form to KCC just for the address change
2. Yes, you can do that.

Put your name and address (you are the main applicant/selectee, right?). If your spouse is the main selectee, then that section will contain your spouse's name and address.

One question moms, if you are doing Aos like birachi and you have already receive a letter from kcc that's says you are on aos,
Do you still updates at kcc ?

No, updating KCC with one's new address is not necessary for AOS. They just need to update their address with USCIS, this is a general requirement for anyone one who is not a USC (with a few exceptions) of course.

Thanks a lot mom. My wife is the principle applicant. So that means I am putting the Name and address(which is same since we live together) of my wife in BOTH my DS230 and her DS230?
Did I understand correctly?
Please advise.

Yes (under the Petitioner section for both).

Hi Mom,
I am really sorry to keep asking several questions. I still have one doubt.
DS230 - part I - item 10,11&13,
I think the address will be the same in all 3 cases. Since we are here in USA, all addresses will be the US address. Where do I put the address of my home country? I am asking this because last time I called KCC, the lady said that I also need also provide address of home country as well. I am so confused, please advise.
Thanks,
Yes (under the Petitioner section for both).

If I was in your shoes, I will put my current US address under sections 10 and 11 (address for the GC bla bla bal). Address in the home country can go under sections 13, 16, 39. Even though you're currently based in the US, the assumption is that you're in the US on a temporary basis and you need to be able to show some sort of ties to the country where you wish to be interviewed. It's not like they will be mailing any package to your home address anyways.

Thanks Mom. I think that makes perfect sense to put home country address on 13,16,39.
How about Previous Visit (item #35) on part I?
I predict that we will be current on July. So our plan is to leave the US at the end of June. So I am guessing I can write XX-XXX to 06-2014. OR do I write the form signed date on DS230 i.e. 03-2014 instead?
This is confusing to me. Please advise.

I think you should be fine if you indicate your present visit as XX-XXX to 06-2014 since you'll still be in the US till June anyways.
