Dear all,

I am preparing my NIW case by myself. There is one confusing part in preparing recommendation letters. I do not know if I should ask my referees to put his/her recommendations in a sealed envelope or just hand them to me directly. Because I am not certain when submitting my application, should I unfold all my recommedation letter and put them together or should I seperate them in individual envelopes. Your experience is greatly appreciated. Thanks a lot

You need to open the envelops containing reocos. Keep the best (strong reco.letters) in first place with your application. Good luck!

Not only that, but you have to double check that the letter is 100% positive and meets the legal requirements of your evidence.ANything less should not be used.

Thanks a lot. I thought that this type of recommendation letter would be similar to others like job recommendation. Well, obviously, I was totally wrong. Thanks for both of your responses.

Yes, you were totally wrong.

Reco letters for NIW are entirely different from the normal employment-experience letters. There is NO similarity between the two.

If you are filing by yourself, then you should be FULLY aware as to what kind of Reco letters you need.Else, you are just wasting your time and the filing fees.Period.

Thanks. Yes, I do know that the content in the recommendation letter is totally different than job seeking ones. However, I just thought that the formality would be similar since they both are "recommendation" letter. But it turned out that I was wrong on that part. Thanks for point that out also.

help on recommendation letters

Hi everybody,

I am thinking about starting NIW of my own. Can somebody share or give some nice thoughts about how and what to write in recommendation letters. After reading though lot of threads, I found that recommendation letters should be very very strong.

And I know I am not too good in writing way too heavy letters. So ppl please help me with some samples, prefereable in IT field.

Please send me some at indi77081@yahoo.com

Thanks a bunch.

There are no standard letters for IT field. You need to tailor your letters to your own situation. Being in IT, its even more important as it is a "typical" field (unless you are working for government or doing some really niche stuff). The letters should try to satisfy the 3-prong NIW test, not in so many words, but alluding to it.
