Friends,
My advance parole(AP) expired this monday and i have to go to canada sometime next week on business trip. I applied for advance parole renewal at California Service Center in Mid December 2002. I have not received the approval yet. Sometime in February 2003, I got an RFE requesting a copy of my spouses approved 140 and 485 notices. Since i applied on my own for AP, I mailed copies of these documents to INS -CSC on my own. CSC has received these about 3 weeks back and the online status says they have indeed received the documents requested. But AP is not yet approved.
I live in New Jersey but my AOS is being processed at CSC(Well, I moved from CA to NJ last year). Now Could i walk into an INS office in New Jersey and get an emergency advance parole? My employer is willing to give me a letter stating that my presence is needed in Canada for helping out their branch office. However they are not willing to say that it would result in a business loss if i don't go to canada and support their canadian operations.
My questions are:
1. Would an employer's letter as above would suffice to get an emergency advance parole? If Not, How their letter should be drafted?(samples appreciated)
2. Assuming #1 is clear, Could i walk into an INS office in New Jersey(Cherry Hill or Newark) and get an Emergency Advance Parole the same day? (My AOS is pending at INS-CSC)
3. Do i need to pay an extra $120 for Emergency AP at the local INS office? OR Would it suffice if i showed the receipt notice for the AP renewal which is pending at INS-CSC?
Any info. you share would be greatly appreciated.
Thx!
