My labor is applied as "Software Engineer". I used AC21. My new title is "Information Engineer". I couldn't find the new title in the SOC, ONET sites.
What happens in this case?
I got a rfe and am in the process of responding to it . . .

Is the new Job Description similar to the old one ?

It should work fine, if the new job description is similar to the old one even if the title is different.

But do verify with your lawyer.

Title doesn't matter. Job responsibilites matters. Make sure job responsibilities matches with old one.

Wouldn't hurt to attach a new job desciption to the RFE response just to indicate that the position is indeed similar to the one in the LC.

No wonder you can't find the title in the DOL book.. "Information Engineer".. The one who engineers information.. Sounds Dilbert-esque.. :)

My friend got similar one in 140 stage and is THRU now, he attached the job description and attorney wrote its the same resposilities, but differrent organisations titles them software differently.

I don't think they made up the title from thin air. This is a one of the biggest financial company in the world and they follow book.

Anyways, The job description is same. My only concern was I couldn't find the new title in the dot or soc. So apparently they too can't find. What would they do in such a kind of situation. I am sending the new employment letter, stating all that was mentioned in the LC. And also it also states that the old job duties are same as the new. They could say so because I was consulting here and converted into permanent.
Let me know your thoughts. . .

To me it looks like a clear-cut case.. List both the original and the new job duties, mention the AC21 and you'll be fine.

A tangent remark.. Big companies' corporate culture doesn't make them less Dilbertesque. In fact, the opposite is true.. A day in a corporate America Cubicleland creates enough stories for ten Dilbert comic books (I guess that's where Scott Adams gets his inspiration ;))
