Help needed - 485 getting messed up

My friend has been laid off for the past 5 months. His RD is Oct, 2001. He is concerned about getting an RFE. If he gets an RFE next year ( 2003) for employment letter, paystubs, Tax retrun; would he be in trouble.
TO reply an RFE, I believe, one gets 3 months. In this time a person can arrange a job. But if the RFE also asks for last years tax return and since my friend did not have a job for the past 5 months, his tax return will have less salary, as compared to what was shown in job offer letter while filing 485. IS this is a concern if he gets an RFE.

even i am concerned about showing less amount in tax return as I was not paid for 4 months this year but have a job now.

I was unpaid for 3 months....Any idea how much of importance is this ???

I think I have to put on hold all the rest I have been planning for next year if this is a critical issue.....
 
I have a similar case. I Filed my I-485 in Oct 2001 and did not have a job from feb 2001 to Jan 2002. I had paid taxes for only 2 months (i.e Jan and FEb 2001) for the year 2001. I took a full time job (new employer) in Jan 2002 on my EAD.

I got am RFE on 19 Oct 2002 asking for last 2 years tax returns and last 3 months pay stuff and letter of employment. I had send all these documents to INS on NOv 25th 2002.

My case is still pending.

A friend of mine also was laid off during 485 processing and didn't have job for 3 months this year. Since he got his job, he has done overtime as much as possible (working weenends, after hours etc) so that he gets paid. By doing so, in the W2 for the year, the pay won't look obviously low.

This might work.

Not Now...

Working OVertime is ruled out nowa days.

I feel lucky to be in office right now despite the client having holidays for 10 days.

I think I am convinced if an RFE comes on this W2 issue I am doomed!!! on GC front
