Hello,
I mailed my citizenship application through Naturalization to Phoenix office.
Received fingerprinting appointment at Oakland office on 27th September 2010.
How long will it take to get an appointment for the interview after fingerprinting?
My husband has to travel to UK for a conference around 5th Oct'2010 and I was going to go with him to UK and than further to India to visit my family for a total of one and a half month.
My question is -
Is it okay if I travel outside USA before I get citizenship or will it create any problem at the interview?
If I request to change my interview date for a later date, how much time will it take to get a 2nd interview scheduled?

Please advise.......

Interviews are scheduled about 1-3 months after FP. Traveling 1 1/2 months after applying is not an issue. However, make sure you have someone checking your mail (don't have mail forwarded) in case you receive interview letter while you are away.
Rescheduling an interview adds another 1-2 months of delays.

I guess your husband is returning to USA after conference. He can check mail and inform you date of interview and you could return accordingly. Normally there is 3-4 weeks notice or more between interview letter and interview date. Otherwise ask your Friend/Relative/Neighbor to check your mail and inform you the date of interview by phone/email.
