Help, My PD date is not correct

Just found that PD date of EB2 is back to May 2000. So disappointed.
I have a question: how does USCIS determine the PD date for the individual case?
I ask this question because I found that my lawyer wrote my PD on the first page of my I485 files. But he wrote it incorrectly. I filed Labor cert in Dec.2001, but the PD on that page is shown as March 2003 which is the approved date of my state labor cert.
Do I need to ask my lawyer to correct it? Since currently the PD date is so essential for us.

Any suggestion will be highly appreciated.

If your GC is based on a Labor certification (LC), then the date you PD should be the date you filed your LC. So in your case it should be Dec 2001, ask your lawyer to correct it.
Is your 140 approved, if yes then the 140 approval notice will have your PD, confirm it there.
