Ok, so I'm thinking about leaving the US and giving up my asylum status and leave to a different country (not my COP, not that it matters anyways). I'm not the head of the family, my dad was the one who originally asked for political asylum. Now my question is, Will the status of my family that will remain here be affected?

Our Asylum case was approved about 11 months ago and If I leave the country I want to do it the best way possible so I can come back here whenever I please. Thanks in advance for your help.

I would recommend waiting one more month and applying for your Green card. Green cards are been processed pretty quick if you don't get stuck in name check. With your Green card, you could come in and out pretty easily.

Hope this helps.

Ok...

Yeah I will apply for my Grren Card next month. Of I'm lucky how long will my green card be processed in? Are we talking about 6-9 months?

6-9 months if YOU ARE VERY LUCKY... but for sure 12 to 18 months...
IF, you dont get stuck on name check or backround checks...

If you leave the country right now, your chances to come back to the U.S. "whenever you want" will be HARD. You will not be able to obtain a nonimmigrant visa since your family lives here and you will be seen as "potential" immigrant.

So the best possible way to ensure that you will be able to come back is having a GC. -- APPLY AND WAIT the 9, 12 , 18 months for your GC and you are free to travel and come back whenever you want as long as your trips are no longer than 6months.

IF YOU WANT TO TRAVEL NOW. Get a Refugee Travel Document... and you can travel and guarantee your entry back. If you travel to your COP it can give trouble to you and your family, so avoid this for now.
