help me understand on-line status

Guys,

I have recently checked my status on line and it says:

Your i-485 application to register PR was received on October 2004. We mailed you a receipt with information about processing. It takes between 570-600 days for us to process this kind of case. We will mail you a decision as soon as processing is complete.

Is this REALLY TRUE that it will take 570 days to process this case? Thanks
