Help me please about EAD

I have applied EAD on June, my I-485 case has been transferred to Chicago INS twice. I believe it is in Chicago now. My lawyer told me I can still send my I-765 application to NSC, so I did. Yesterday, I check my status online: It said my I-765 case has been transferred to Chicago again, Oh Man!! My H1 extension will be expired soon. my questions are:
1. Can I still go to Chicago office to get iEAD? But now EAD days change from 80 days to 90-120 days. But my receipt still says 80 days.
2. when should I go? on 91th day or 121th day.?
3. Do I need to bring any letter to go Chicago to get iEAD card? how should I prepare for it?
4. How long will I wait for I-765 case be processed in Chicago? Interview needed?


I am so frustrated, I don't know why nothing is smooth. Thank you very much for any response.

YOU CAN DO

you can go to chicago office on 91st day and request iead. If you have time, then wait for couple of days then go to chicago ins office.

Chicago IEAD

Go in to the Chicago office w/out any appt on the 91st day after the receipt notice date on your I765 application. Go on a wednesday or thursday (monday too crowded). be there around 5:30 in the morning. Take the following:

1) A new Completed I765 application
2) Nebraska I765 receipt notice & Xfer notice.. Very important, you
have to prove that its has been > 90 days since filing of I765
3) Proof of pending I485 (Reciept notice)
4) Photo ID
5) Old EAD card
6) Copies of all supporting documents required
7) If you go earlier than 91 days, letter from employer stating why you need an expedited approval ( I would take a simple letter anyways, just stating your start date, brief description of responsibilities and salary)

Basically, assume that you are applying for a new EAD and take everything that a new I765 requires, except for photos (they take your pics right there) and signature card (they will make you sign there)

You won't have any problems.. dont worry about your H1 expiration.
