Hi, everybody
I am in a trouble. I am in US in a F-1 status. I won DV-2005. My number appears current in August 2005. That's why I cannot do AOS, but CP because of the time. My problem is that I don't know if I should go to the interview in the consulate because I could lose my F-1 visa. My husband is one of my dependents, but he is not going to accompany me and my two children to the interview in my country because he is in US waiting his interview for green card due to his son is American citizen and filed a petition only for him. I have all the documents, 18000 dollars in a bank account, 10000 in stocks, house in US.
Do you think is this enough?
Please help me.

The money and stocks should be fine. Now if you stay in your F1 status and don't drop out of school, your status should be okay. In case they deny your application at the interview, you can just continue the F1 status. If you drop out of status, you will have problems going back into the US.

she is talking about CP, not AOS. SHe can't stay in F-1 status once she leaves the US.

I think you will be fine. Good luck!
