help! Interview has been descheduled

touchstone

Just received a letter from the DO - the interview that's supposed to happen tomorrow has been descheduled "due to unforeseen circumstances"! No other details have been given. Anyone else has similar experience? (I didn't even know they'd ever do that!) What could be the "unforeseen circumstances"? Should I be worried? What's the best course of action at this point other than waiting? Thank you very much in advance for any help you may offer!

good reasons: could be weather, staff shortage, scheduling problem.......

other reasons: lost file, conflicting information, awaiting name check....likely, one of the good reasons

call -1800 number...

Thanks, DreamUSA. I actually have major update to share (if any one of you cares. :)). My spouse's appointment is today and hasn't been descheduled (mine was today too originally), so I went with her. I handed in my interview notice, ready to be told that it was descheduled so I could ask the reason. It turned out they called me in for the interview right away. After finishing the test, it took them a while to locate my files, but they did eventually! So, here I am - happy to let you know that I have passed my interview! Thanks all, and good luck to those who need it. :)

Congratulations. Sometimes it helps to ask, and no better time than when you are inside the DO.

Philly DO (guess a scenrio like what I experienced can happen anywhere though).

Touchstone,

Thanks for your response. could you explain where did they find your file? what happened to your file? did they told you what was problem?

Thanks for the congrats. Well, I have no idea what happened to my files. The interviewer gave me the civic test first while someone else was looking for my files. After the test I had to wait outside for another 20 munites before called in again. When I came back, my files were there and we then went over the yes/no questions.

Looking back, I am not even sure my files were missing in the first place. It might've been a scheduling problem. They obviously didn't *prepare* to interview me on that day, but I guess when I showed up they decided to get it done anyway, which is why the rush in searching for my files. The officer was pretty cool but he did his job very "efficiently" - I think it was the quickist test I could imagine, and he talked fast and I answered fast - quite a teamwork!:) Thanks for listening, and good luck to everyone still in the “pipeline"!
