I came to USA sep 2005 to marry my husband. I dont even want to mention the things we went through during applying k1 visa, but finally we are together. Right now we have a 7 month daughter, living a happy life together, but i still cant get away from the troubles in the paper work!!!!!
Dec, 2005, i filed my paper for EAD and I 485. They messed up our address a big time (we have physical and mailing add which we marked very clearly). Finally we went to the local office to explain all the things and got my EAD and they fixed the address in their system too.
ok, then we were waiting for interview for greencard. The day we received the interview letter, it was 15 mins before the interview! we are living 3 hrs away from the office. we had to go through infopass to explain and were kicked back off the waiting line.
Almost 6 mon later we got our interview scheduled. We went there and everything was smooth. We thought maybe finally we could take a break. But 90 days passed we still didnt hear anything. So we called service center and they issued a notice to local office for an explanation.
Today we got the letter from them, it said
" based on your request we researched the status........we have to perform additional review on this case and this has caused a longer processing time. if you do not receive any decision or other notice of action from us within 6 months of this letter, please call...."
WHAT DOES THIS ADDITIONAL REVIEW mean????
my husband and i just want to be together, and hope to get my gc so that we can go back and forth to my hometown FREELY.
Another thing is , cuz of this reason, i have to renew my EAD again ( im teaching in a college now) which means more finance burdern to us and more emotional burdens.
Does anybody here have similar experience?
i feel kinda helpless, want to talk to someone who are in the same boat. Im so glad to find this forum. Just wish i found it earlier
Thank you for reading my words! any reply will be highly appreciated!
