pl. shed light on this.

My marriage is scheduled for June 7th, 2005. I have a H4 appointment for my to-be spouse scheduled in India on June 8th, 2005.

I got an email from USCIS today that my I-485 has been approved and the approval notice has been mailed.

it is a messed up situation - but trying to make some sense out of it (if possible!!)

a) Am I still in H1 status as of today (my H1B is valid till June 2006) or has my H1 status expired the moment my I-485 has been approved? - Because if my H1 has expired, then the whole H4 appointment thing is out of the window!

b) After she crosses the H4 interview, If she is able to enter the US on H4, then, is there a way for me to add her to my I-485 application using 245(i) or 245 (k) OR is that NOT POSSIBLE at all b'cos my application has been approved

I have already asked this question to my attorney. He is on vacation, waiting for response from his subs....I would really appreciate some timely input on this from you Gurus !!.....

THANKS

Your H-1 is done. You are now a permanent resident.

It is extremely doubtful that your spouse can get an H-4, since she will need to provide evidence of your H-1 status.
